The aesthetic comes from the heritage of what we see in the Stendig calendar and the 60s, it's about tightly kerned letter forms. I built a system as much as I built a calendar. There's every day of the week with a number by it, so we made kerning pairs of every number. If there's a “T” there's a “T1” through 31, and a “F1” through 31.
